The war film Our Time Will Come (明月几时有) directed by Ann Hui will be hitting theaters in July. Their official weibo account had previously released stills of Zhou Xun and Eddie Peng. Today, we finally get to see Wallace Huo!
Gearing up for it’s premiere next month, Edge of Innocence (夏天十九岁的肖像) released more character posters today. The film is based on the novel “Summer, The Portrait of a 19 Year Old” by Japanese mystery writer Shimada Soji. It stars Huang Zitao and Yang Caiyu. The story follows a young man named Kang Qiao (Huang Zitao) who is hospitalized due to a leg injury and during his stay, he witnesses Xia Yingying (Yang Caiyu) committing a crime across the street. Drawn to the mysterious girl, he tries to get to know her better and they end up sharing a beautiful summer together. However, there is more to Xia Yingying than meets the eye…
The jury for the 70th Cannes Film Festival has been unveiled and we see a familiar name on the list!
The 8th China Film Directors Guild Awards ceremony was held on April 22nd. Fan Bingbing won best actress once again for her performance in director Feng Xiaogang’s I Am Not Madame Bovary (我不是潘金莲), which also took home the best film and best screenplay awards!

Upcoming romantic comedy This Is Not What I Expected (喜欢你) stars Takeshi Kaneshiro as a prickly CEO and Zhou Dongyu as a sassy chef. I wasn’t really interested in this movie before, but then I saw the new trailer last night and it actually looks pretty entertaining! Now, I kind of wish I can watch it this weekend! But, unfortunately the film won’t be in theaters until next Thursday on April 27th (and I’m not in China either, so I’ll have to wait several months until it’s legally available online) 😛
